About Us

Northern Detour has been a beloved RV park for decades. We are committed to providing a welcoming and peaceful environment for all visitors. Many of our camp goers make Northern Detour RV Park their summer home year after year.

Our Facilities

Northern Detour sits on 600 feet of beautiful lakeshore on Poplar lake, Wisconsin. Lounge at the shore, fish, swim, kayak, paddle board, relax. We have 18 sites, each including electric, water and septic hookups. We also offer boat slip rentals. We are pet friendly. We have picnic tables and fire rings available for use.

Our Location

We are conveniently located one hour north of the Twin Cities of Minnesota, near all the best attractions in the area: state parks, hiking trails, lakes, wineries, shopping and even an adventure park.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do you offer nightly or weekly RV sites?

Unfortunately we do not. We only offer seasonal sites, with our season being May-October.

What is your seasonal RV site rate?

The 2026 seasonal rate is $2,600. Weather permitting, the season is May-October. This rate includes water and sewer, with electricity being billed separately based on usage.

Do you have dock slips for rent?

Yes, we do! Seasonal residents receive a large discount on dock slip rentals. Please inquiry about availability.

Are dogs allowed?

Yes, dogs are allowed but must be leashed and cleaned up after.

Do you have a bathhouse and laundry?

Unfortunately we do not have a bathhouse or laundry on-site, but we are very close to town!
